I can't imagine the difficulties involved in the language barrier. We speak our southern language as naturally as we please and never give it a thought. I'd hate to think how I'd insult the people in foreign countries if I ever ended up there!

We are SO ready for you to get home. About one more Sunday with Brother Roger in the pulpit and... you may not have a job anymore. That guy can PREACH!

I needed a good laugh tonight and I sure got one from this blog. Sounds like a case of foot and mouth disease to me! I'm glad the translator caught it anyway. I'm sure you would have stood out in the memories of those people forever if he hadn't!

We're looking forward to your homecoming. You have been missed very much!

"...there was a very strange, almost resistant spirit among the teens. They were quite animated during the singing, but rather disconnected from the preaching."

Sounds just like the typical American church to me.

Sounds like the trip is going great, otherwise. Twelve saved and counting! If only one soul can be saved from hell, it's worth it all, but to hear about that many being saved at one time is enough to make me shout!

The crowd at Ridge Road has thinned out this morning. Tommy's mother fell yesterday and broke her shoulder, Ann has a pinched nerve and is down in her back and I got hit hard with the Norovirus Friday, so none of us are in church this morning. James did go, and so did John and his family. Keep praying for us and we'll be praying for you.

It's amazing what junk can get made into law just riding in on the tails of valid legislation. Our lawmakers need to make a law prohibiting this practice, but they won't. That's the only way junk legislation like this will ever get passed and they all have their own pet projects, so the practice will continue.

On the other hand, it doesn't seem to matter what laws are passed anyway. When laws are passed, the Federal Supreme Court can always overturn them claiming they're unconstitutional.

What a mess. I'm just thankful that I'm as old as I am - less time to have to deal with it!

And pray for the family of the young man that died on the four-wheeler as well. His mother died several years ago of cancer, at a young age. How can one family bear so much tragedy? Only by the grace of God...

Seeds were planted this morning and we'll be sincerely praying that God will give the increase.

Sam Gipp's "Answer Book" is one of the best you can get on the King James Bible issue. It's written in a question and answer format so it's very easy reading. For another treatment of the "Easter" translation in Acts 12:4 see Jack Moorman's essay at http://www.av1611.org/kjv/easter2.html.
Far from being an "error" in the King James, the tranlation of "pascha" as "easter" in the KJV is a testimony of the fidelity and spiritual sensitivity of the translators and is a good example of the superiority of our "Old English" Bible over every other translation ever produced.

Brother Lee, I just finished reading Dr. Gipp's book "Created For His Pleasure". It came into my hands at a time in my life when I desperately needed it. A burden I'd been carrying around with me for a long time got much lighter after reading this wonderful book. It challenged me to learn more about how I can please my Lord and Master - which is what I was created for - rather than spending my time grieving over lost sinners that refuse to be saved.

When I finished it, I immediately began deliberating which one of Dr. Gipp's other books I wanted to read next. I decided that "The Answer Book" would be next on my list.

Then I stumbled on an article at a local church's web site entitled "Why the King James Version CANNOT be the ONLY TRUE "inspired version" of God's Word." Being profoundly offended and outraged by this piece of trash, I immediately went in search of answers to the statement:

"Easter" in Acts 12:4 is a mistranslation of the word "pascha" and it should be translated as "passover".

The first -and by far the best - answer I found was in "The Answer Book" which can be read in its entirety online at www.chick.com. I won't even have to order it! It's there, waiting for me.

Just another example of God directing us to what He wants us to know if we'll get our noses out of the newspapers and away from the TV screen long enough to look!

So, Brother Lee. You left your passport. That brings back some recollections about passports from just a little while back. Somebody kept reminding everyone else over and over to make sure they had their passports right before that trip to Romania, I think.

And there was something else about Ben being so inept that you had to to follow him around to make sure he kept up with his passport? I'm glad your Dad is with you - to follow you around! Maybe you can keep up with it until you're back in that states, provided he helps you.

I'm just glad I didn't have to take that ride with you when you were trying retrieve your passport and then get back to the airport on time God was surely with you, Jehu... and poor Kelly. If she'd ran out of gas on 9th Avenue, she'd still be mad when you got back home!

I would have loved to be watching though, as Ernie crawled through that kitchen window. His angels must have lifted him up and tossed him in the house, else he'd have never made it!

May God go with you, Brother Lee. You will be sorely missed for those two weeks and you will constantly be in our thoughts and in our prayers.

Please pray for me as I continue comforting and supporting Christy's family following her father's death. I feel that her mother is very close to accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior and I'm hoping for a domino effect once that happens.

Amen, my brother!

A party was elected on November 4th, not a man. After years of seeing the economy crumble around us, I do believe Adolph Hitler could have been elected if he'd been nominated in the Democratic primary. Americans were simply too afraid of putting another Republican in office, because the majority blames the Republicans for the mess we're in now.

What people don't understand is that the downturn in the economy started with a Democratic president. Bill Clinton signed the NAFTA agreement in 1993 and all our jobs suddenly went overseas. The economy went steadily downhill until 2008, when skyrocketing oil prices pushed us completely over the edge, into a near depression.

It's going to get a lot worse and it may never get any better, but I'm not worried. My Lord promised that He'd never see His seed begging bread. Psalms 37:25. Those that serve Him will have a roof over their heads, clothes to wear and food to eat. He promised! Luke 12:22-31
