A Good Breakfast this Morning

Posted in Outreach at 9:23 am by Administrator

Our retrospect in the Lord’s work always reveals him working both ends of a matter even when we can’t see him at work. We get to feed the football team breakfast one Friday morning each year and for nearly a year now I’ve had a subject in mind for this year’s devotion. That changed earlier this week and the Lord put a very different, more evangelistic message on my heart. Yesterday, tragically, a young Neal alumnist passed away from injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident. It so happened that our lot to feed the team fell on this morning in the wake of this heart-breaking news. I’ve never had a group of students so attentive as the football team and cheerleaders in attendance today. Many of the students that were present for the meal this morning knew the young man and had eternity in view with the news of this death fresh in their minds. The conviction among them was evident and at the close of the devotion a number of students raised their hands requesting prayer for themselves having a lack of assurance of salvation. Pray for these young people that they might genuinely turn to God by faith in Christ Jesus while the Holy Spirit is dealing with their hearts.
